      I cant help but feel that Del Bosque made a big mistake dropping Torres. Germany's defenders can just swamp Villa and outnumber him completely, without anyone else to worry them or occupy them.

        Spain vastly overdoing it with the little short pass-pass-pass-pass syndrome and the 'thread the needle' type of pass - only Alonso is willing to play any slightly direct balls.

            That's because he did. Villa is half the player without Torres. Great scorer, but can't lead the line effectively. Del Bosque is clueless and is lucky to still be in the competition.
