i've played football all my life(and some other sports aswell) so to say i have no concept in football...well i won't respond..

real payed what 30mil euros for him? overrated he is, average defender, rash in challenges, constantly exposed..how can that be 30mil worth?

barca are the most complete footballing side in the world. 7 / 8 players in the spain side are from barca and although not looking at their most impressive best they have still been the best at the world cup. they stroll around the pitch at ease and i havent seen one yet look "shaky".

ramos may be over rated but he is still a bloody good footballer. ferdinand was 30 mill and he is a distinclty average defender. caught out numerous times for united but saved by vidic. ledley bloody king is even more over rated by the spurs / english faithful.....he is useless.

ok i may have exaggerated a little regarding ramos, and may not have expressed myself in the best way regarding the rest..so i'll try again:


the barcelona players in the spanish team only seem to know how to play in one gear, they hold on to the ball and start attacks slowly no matter if they're 3:0 ahead or 2:0 down, in the spanish side the only two who seem to be able to play a bit quicker and make a few unexpected moves are villa and xabi, and in barcelona the one that does that on most occasions is messi. The barca players are capable of holding on to the ball for 90min but seem to lack(at least in this world cup, previously either iniesta or xavi have been on fire) the final ball, or the willingless to shot from distance, they seem like they want to roll the ball over the goal line every single time, which i find very frustrating as i (like most of liverpool fans) support the spanish.

I really don't think they were, Puyol got a lot of important challenges in (regarding Ramos btw, he was lucky not to give away a pen) and made sure he was in position to stop Germany breaking away.
Xabi had a lot shots, but he also gave the ball away more than usual.
Xavi a lot of nice short passing, but he spent most of the game having minimal impact.

You girls done then? OK, guess it's safe now I thought Spain were immense yesterday, this has to be one of the best teams in the history of international football really. They have quality all over the pitch and the bench too, yesterday on the bench they have Torres, Fabregas, Navas, Reina and Silva to name but few.

They keep the ball so well and they haven't even hit top gear yet, these players are some of the best of their generation, and further, and deserve all the recognition they get. IF they win on sunday I think Xavi and co will have won practially every major honour in football.

Germany were denied a clear-cut penalty at the end of the first half. I didn't see anything so clear-cut for Spain.

Still, Spain were the better side overall and I'm glad they went through.

You talking about taht Özil incident? Guess it could have been awarded, but Torres would have scored had Pedro passed the ball to him and Villa was inches from getting to the ball when Iniesta crossed it. Spain had some decent chances IMO, but it could gave been very different I guess had Germany scored first, I think Spain would have gotten a winner though.

Maybe. It would have changed the game though. Even at 0-0 Spain didn't score until 70 odd minutes and it's quite feasible they'd have been taking a few more risks at the back if they had been 1-0 down going into the last half hour. Germany's game was all about counter-attack so it's believable Spain might have been undone before they could equalise.

Pedro should have passed whatever the score was. He was a silly boy.
