It's probably a fairly logical progression - he refereed the CL final and didnt get a lot wrong, so this makes sense.

I think he's a **** ref - totally up his own arse, makes **** decisions, and had a dreadful season. He's done alright by his standards at the WC but it seems unfair to give him this final after he did the CL final too. He's hardly Pierluigi Collina

I've been really impressed with two or three refs in this tournament, they must be pretty miffed at missing out to this cunt.

Webb doesnt have the same kind of self-perceived celebrity status on the WC stage though, unlike the PL.

Maybe he could just get on with refereeing and leave the autograph signing to someone else.
