    John Bostock

Taken from the Beeb's gossip page

Tottenham's teenage midfielder John Bostock believes his progress is being damaged by foreign players in the English game. The 18-year-old, who was on loan at Brentford last season, wants another loan move as he has only made three substitute appearances for Spurs in two years. (Various)

Serves him right really. Demanded a move from Palace with Palace receiving a paltry compensation and is now rotting as a lower league loanee. Should've stayed at Palace where he'd have been worshipped and certainly would've been playing Championship football regularly. When will they ever learn

His progress is being 'damaged by foreigners'. What a load of bollocks, if he was any good he would have gotten through.

Teenager John Bostock believes his attempts at finding work are being damaged by foreigners in England. The 18-year-old, who had a work experience placement at Wickes last year, wants another apprenticeship this year having made no progress in finding a permanent position in two years. (BNP)

Yeah my Spurs mate says his attitude is appalling and the stark reality is he's nowhere near good enough either.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He sounds like a right **** and if he was good enough I think Redknapp would have given him a chance. Another overhyped young English player.

He seems to have done well at age group level internationally though. I suppose the attitude becomes a big problem when you have to compete against men and are at a natural disadvantage. I can't help feel that a lot of young players use the influx of foreign players as an excuse to accept a decent wage and not really put in the hard hours needed to really push on. I have to say in a lot of ways it is one of the things that has impressed me by the younger players in our squad as they seem to have something approaching the right mentality.

That's maybe because we had two foreign coaches during the last 10 years. Seeing that Roy has worked overseas as well, I'm inclined to believe that the same mentality will prevail, which is a fantastic thing.

Regardless of whether he has an attitude problem or whether he was wrong to leave Palace he does have a point. 10-15 years ago players of his talent were getting first team chances at big clubs but thats no longer the case because most premier league teams are now filled with mostly foreign players. Players of better quality maybe but its obviously harder for local players now compared with 10 years ago

10 years ago the English league was an absolute shambles. Whether it gives local players a chance or not, they've got to be as good if not better than their foreign peers. I don't see the problem with competition, it only enhances the quality.

There's nothing wrong in things being 'harder' for young players. They've got to put it in their mind that they've got to work hard to become any good.

You really think so? I think the complete opposite. I enjoyed football back then, I think its a complete shambles now. Ruined by foreign billionaires spending ridiculous amounts of money on players, players earning ridiculous salaries that they don't deserve, very little difference in the actually quality of football and the fans have to pay for it through over-inflated ticket prices and costs in general.

I enjoy watching talented foreign players but there are also plenty in the premier league who aren't particularly talented and certainly no better than the young local lads would be if given a chance to progress

'Arry will put him in his place. Spurs gave more England internationals to the intial world cup 28 man squad then any other premiership team

10 years ago the quality started to pick up (it picked up a little bit before that, I remember Chelsea signing a bunch of foreign players and the likes of Ravanelli etc), which upped the quality a notch or two.

I agree that billionaires and money have ruined the game, but in essence, the quality that foreign players (and managers) can bring to the game over here is invaluable if you ask me. Europe in general, benefited from the free movement of workers and it's a good thing.

It only reduces the quality if dross is being brought in and which doesn't improve the level but that's down to each club's (or manager's) valuation of a player. Mistakes have been (and will be) made, but on the whole I don't think it's bad. Add to that the fact that those players are highly taxed on their revenues, which can be reinvested in the society here, providing the powers that be do the right things.

Is he forgetting that Kyle Naughton and Danny Rose broke through last season... I do believe they're both young english talent.

He can do one along with the other gob****e Adel Tarabbt, they both think they're owed the world!

Although saying that, Adel can look tasty at times.
