Competition Format – Finals Series
The top six (6) teams at the conclusion of the Regular Season will progress to the
Finals Series.
The Finals Series format will be as follows:
Semi Finals
Teams 1 & 2 will play-off over two (2) legs, with the winner, based on aggregate score,
advancing to the Hyundai A-League 2011 Grand Final.
The team who finishes in first (1st) position at the conclusion of the Regular Season can
nominate their preference to play the first (1st) leg of their Semi Finals either at home or
away, subject to venue availability and FFA approval.
Teams 3 & 6 (Match B) and 4 & 5 (Match C) will play-off with the winners from each of
these matches to face each other in Match D (week 2) of the Hyundai A-League 2011
Finals Series.
Teams 3 & 4 will be considered the ‘home’ team for Matches B & C.
The highest placed team to advance to Match D will be considered the ‘home’ team.
