This is a truly shocking tackle. Actually, I think it's the worst I've ever seen. The ref clearly knows the guy's been seriously injured and he was through on goal as well but only produces a yellow . The keeper even claims he got the ball and there was no apologetic gesture even though he probably heard the lads leg snap. Tibia and fibia were broken. The angle around 36 secs really tells the story.

Poor Mendes. That Ben Thatcher's not a good egg. Didn't Mendes get clattered again up in Scotland. It was good to see him in the World Cup after being on the end of two horrendous challenges. Quite a good player too.


That second one wouldn't be out of place in an ending of a martial arts film

Not the worst I've seen neither but definitely up there. Horrendous tackling though.

It just shows you how in a second your entire career could be gone. Sad sight..
