Heartbreak: Tevez's goal was to win the World Cup

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has revealed he has lost his motivation to play after Argentina's disappointing World Cup campaign.

Tevez was in sensational form for City last season and bagged 29 goals before heading to South Africa with Argentina.

But after Diego Maradona's men were dumped out of the World Cup following their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Germany in Cape Town, Tevez appears unprepared for the new Barclays Premier League season.

In an interview with The News Of The World, he said: 'I'm trying to motivate myself because the World Cup was my goal. For the first time in my life, I'm having problems to find something that motivates me.'

I think we should sign him up. He'd soon get his mojo back in front of the Kop.

Nah, he'll always find something to moan about.

Every few months he comes out with it.

I’m nearly sure he said after joining United that he wanted to see out his 4/5 year contract, move back to Argentina for a few years and retire early. He didn’t want to be playing into his 30’s. Obviously that didn’t work out for him, but think it would be a big risk for us taking him on, if there is a chance he’s move on for free a few years after.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
