For that same 3 year period, only City and Spurs had a higher net spend than Villa. Not even Chelsea or the Mancs came close.

In fact, i might as well just post the figures...

Net spend between May 2007 and May 2010:

City - £262m
Spurs - £76m
Villa - £64m
Man Utd - £33m
Liverpool - £27m
