so do i mate..

playing tonight - the lad who organises it, sound lad, good mate, used to be a decent player, but in his 30s now and was really overweight (up until the last month or so where somehow he has lost over two stone and completley transformed himself, fair play) - anyway he is ultra competitive to the point where its not funny.

In our regular 10 - there is 4 of us who are good players, play or have played at a reasonable standard - then there is a split in the other 6 between decent players for 5 a side that do a job and then a couple who are really poor but at least try hard.

When one of the 4 of us try and pick the team, we always try and split as fair as possible - so split us four up, split the couple who are poor up etc etc - it's quite interesting, the games are fiercely competitive and the result acutally comes down to the middle players - you know the four good players are going to play well and stand out, you know the **** players are going to be ****.....so it depends on what those players inbetween do...one game one or two of them will have blinders so their team will win.....the next game three days later, the same players will have stinkers so their team will lose


Anyway - the lad i mentioned who organises it - when he picks the team it's unbelievably unfair and it usually goes like this - him, 3 of the good players and one **** against me the okish players and a **** player.....it's infuriating - the gulf in class means that the 3 good players just play us off the park - as all they do is stick two on me and i've got no support.

What makes it worse is this lad is so funny in a proper "i'm taking my ball home" kinda way - say even if his team is like 5 goals up, and some slighlty, debatle, steps in the area, he's screaming for a penalty, despite everyone including his own players saying "play on"....no he insists on the penalty - then when a blatant penalty at his end occurs, and his players agree it's a penalty, he throws his toys out the pram

i do too - i would love to see it....i've watched them now every week be it in europe or la liga and for the last two months or so, it's just been incredible

I'd love them to go on and continue like this all season....but it's so difficult and u have to think that somewhere along the line they will get caught out (not found out ) by someone or something.

Honoured to be watching this, we're so lucky to witness a team like this, at their peak, with Messi as the ringleader. Superb football.

Barca give almost 100% the whole games now. Last season they could sit back the last 30 minutes or so with the game won 2,3-0. Now they just continue to give more or less 100% the whole time.

Very clever thing to do. Makes many teams think they have no chance at all before the games when they look at Barcelonas latest results. Instead of facing a team that win games by two goals or so they face a team that win games with four five goals.

The opposition knew that they would get a chance when Barca backed off. Now they don't back off so the opposition gives up when they are a couple of goals down.
