    He never beat you boss...

When Rafa was sacked and Houllier started babbling crap out it was his team that won the CL etc- he also claimed that a player text him saying 'he never beat you boss' there was a bit of a discussion on here about who it was.

Could it have been Jamie carragher?

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has revealed the manager he'd most like to style himself on is Aston Villa boss in-waiting and former Anfield chief Gerard Houllier. Carragher, who is now into his 15th season in the Liverpool first-team, has long been linked with a future in coaching due to his passion and encyclopaedic knowledge of the game.
Enlarge Enlarge I want to be like you: Carragher has expressed deference for former boss Houllier who managed the Reds between 1998 and 2001

Houllier was in the dug-out at Carragher's recent testimonial and he admits he would like to emulate his former boss, he says he wouldn't travel the world to fulfill his managerial ambitions
He said: 'If I did become a manager, of all the ones I’ve had, I’d probably be most similar in style to Gerard Houllier. He used lose his temper a little bit - I think I’d lose mine as well.
Inspiration: Carragher embraces Houllier ahead of an England game in 2004
'Everybody thinks that I’m 100 per cent going to be a manager, but I’m not certain. You only have to look at Roy Hodgson to see that some of them have to go all over the world here, there and everywhere.
'I have a young family and I’m not sure whether they’d appreciate that. I’m not sure either whether I’d enjoy it because I like being at home in Liverpool close to everyone I know.'
And he admitted his recent experience at the World Cup helped him see at close quarters how high-profile managers such as Fabio Capello operate.
'You just pick up little things, how they react in certain situations,' Carragher said. 'There were a lot of things happening at the World Cup and it was interesting to see how he dealt with pressure rather than from a football or tactical side.
'Capello’s a brilliant coach. You only have to look at his CV to appreciate that.'

There was a reason why Rafa wouldn't give Carragher a new contract, or was slightly reluctant to do it.

I don't think anyone said that, I think Houllier was making it up.

I agree, i dont think it happened at all. Houllier strikes me as having a bit of a tendency to let his imagination run wild.

Jesus - I hope he's just talking about temperament. Bit of a surprise anyway.

Houllier is far from the man he was when he first arrived at Liverpool. I don't believe any player made that comment to him and I think he's a bit loopy now. I don't think he will last long at Villa

I think Houllier has been sniffing glue.

Gutted if Jamie and Rafa did not have the professional relationship and mutual respect I always thought thay had. Rafa made Carra the player he is today.

Why? Who cares? Some players would have hated Rafa's robotic nature, others wouldn't care. He's gone now.

I think Jamie just means he would lose his temper once in a while, like old Bulgey eyes. I suspect Rafa very rarely lost his temper, nor Sven, nor Roy(s). Well, I think Hodgson might lose his temper quite badly but I dare say Carra hasn't seen that yet.

He does say the manager he would most be like, not the manager he would most like to be like.
                      Really?

Obviously you can see from the Carragher on that pitch that if he goes into management he's going to be a shouter. I think the bit in bold is the key bit, of the managers he's had in his time at Liverpool, we've had Rafa, famed for keeping his cool, Roy Evans, reportedly a friend of the players and not exactly a disciplinarian, Roy Hodgson, who he's barely seen anything of his style, if Carragher is going to shout at the players when he's in charge that only leaves Houllier to compare to. Saying he's looking to emulate Houllier, because he shouted and Carragher believes he will shout is a stupidly tedious link IMO the report has completely taken things out of context.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
