Inter Milan v Tottenham, GpA, 19:45

      Saturday, 23 October 2010

He'll potentially be back by 23rd October, for the home game against Everton - if not, certainly by the 30th for their visit to Old Trafford. The league games he'll miss are pretty straightforward. Having said that, so was Wigan at home.

His absence will surely cost them in the CL though.

I think they'll do just fine Pav will save them like he did towards the end of last season. We should be more concerned about our lack of depth

Tottenham have confirmed Jermain Defoe had been ruled out for "around three months" after undergoing surgery on torn ankle ligaments.

Spurs' fears over the injury the striker suffered in England's European Championship qualifier in Switzerland on Tuesday night were confirmed following consultation with a specialist on Thursday.

It means the 27-year-old could miss all of his club's Champions League group matches, as well as two England internationals.

A statement on Spurs' official website read: "Following a review by an ankle specialist, Jermain Defoe underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right ankle yesterday evening.

"The striker was forced off with the injury during England's European Championship qualifier in Switzerland on Tuesday and has been ruled out of action for around three months."
