This I don't get - and it's the reason I came on to post.

Why are Andy Gray and whathisface falling over each other to find superlatives for a save that was what all keepers do when they've commited to a save and a deflection changes the direction and that is to stick a foot out and hope for the best.

And because I'm typing this on my iPhone, the Bluenoses have scored.

It's a good save because in that situation you try and stop it with whatever you can, he was aware enough to make himself big, stick his leg out, did that and saved it. At the same time he wasn't in control of where the ball ended up so it was also fortuante that it didn't go in.

It's a lucky save - as you've said he had no control over where the ball went, he had already committed (not made by 'being big' by the way) and did what *every* goalkeeper and person does with momentum and that is stick a leg out.

It's not a personal attack on you, it was more the commentators creaming themselves and all in my opinion of course.
