If it is up to the respective leagues to regulate their game, then why do we have to follow stupid rules like not being able to issue post game punishment if a player has been booked for an incident etc?

There's probably a distinction between the "Laws of the Game" and crowd control regulations, etc. It does seem a somewhat contrived distinction though.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
