Rio Ferdinand returns as England captain

Don't want to reiterate all Capello's stupid decisions over the World Cup but I can't say I'm too surprised Rio is captain again, given what an idiot Capello is.

Rio shouldn't even be in the team let alone captain, especially considering how well Stevie's done during his time. England play better with Stevie as captain you can really see the passion...Rio is one of the dumbest footballers in the EPL...he answers questions with one word answers and gives the same answer for almost every question and utters complete dross.

It's statements like this that annoy me and make him out to be a stubborn ****. So no matter how well a player performs as a captain - Capello is too stubborn to change.

I really am starting to hate Capello now. What does he do apart from watching one or two games a week - he really should take some English lessons, he's been here a few years now and you can still barely understand him. What has he actually accomplished since he's been here? Nothing. we aced the qualifiers against rubbish teams that we should have thrashed anyway and that's about it.

If there were no Liverpool players in the England squad I wouldn't follow them at all...in fact, I hope England lose now and Rio scores an OG or gives away a penalty.

I think it's a wank decision. Gerrard has been a great captain for England and has really raised his game. I don't actually think he's a great skipper all things considered but he's done so well in the role for England that it seems crazy to take it off for him a guy who spends more time injured than not.

Capello is a joke. He took a fat pay check, couldn't give a **** how England do as he will get bumper pay regardless. As you say, can't be bothered to learn the language and just potters along knowing that he is in a no-lose situation.

I don't care for his amazing record he is taking the utter piss. That World Cup was utterly shambolic and he made out like we did pretty well and then when talking about planning for the future he calls up Kevin Davies. I hope he ****s off sharpish.

Don't think many people were shocked that he was given it again but how can he give it to Rio this is a person who is injured more often than not, missed a drugs test then served an 8 month ban for it, and is coming to the end of his career he is a loud mouth over opinionated idiot
