tp be fair though - and whilst i admit it must have been close (gerrard i'm talking about here) there was never ever anything concrete like this in the press from either the player or manager. - yes there was a lot of **** going on behind the scenes, some things we know about, some things people speculate on and some things we may never know about - but there was never anything like this re Gerrard.


I'd be quite happy if the below happened...in order

US
New good bright inspiring manager appointed
squad starts to gel and pick up points
Jan - bring in two or three players
push on and finish top ten - maybe a uefa or fa cup if things really went well
summer- the ****e is is sold off and we build an exciting squad again

disharmony in the dressing room/fans kicking off
rooney leaves in jan
united start struggling for points
no money available for top replacements
fergie starts losing it - couple of other players not happy
