Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan has left the club after less than a year in charge, BBC Sport understands.
The Teessiders lost 2-1 at home to Leeds United on Saturday, dropping to 20th place in the Championship with six defeats in their first 11 league games.
Strachan, who won just 13 of his 46 games in charge, succeeded Gareth Southgate as manager in October 2009.
