I got an average of 4.5 mil for united, and a standard deviation of 5.55 for any stats buffs out there

Not sure it is worth comparison to be honest. They only stand out expenses in the Man U lineup are Carrick who has had plenty of first team action and Smalling who may or may not be an expensive flop but has time on his side. The rest I would say are pretty good signings although Bebe is a bit of an odd one.
