    Owen injured again

Least surprising football story of the week

But Owen revealed he "suffered a different muscle injury" in training.

"It's all part and parcel of football. Everyone gets injured. Hopefully, I can come back and be as strong as ever."
If by 'everyone' he means Chris Kirkland, Owen Hargreaves, or Thomas Rosicky, then fair enough. If he means every other footballer in the top flight, then he needs to get a grip and realise that he's made of glass, and he won't ever play more than a handful of games in a season. Oh, and that he's no quicker than Jamie Carragher now.

      Another choice quote:

Despite his setbacks at United, Owen insisted he is happier playing infrequently for a big club challenging for trophies than for a smaller team where he might get more opportunities.

"I've played in some of the biggest clubs in the world over my career and I've had not such a good time at certain clubs where I've been in the relegation zone struggling away," he stated.

"Training with top players every day, being among the elite players is what I enjoy doing more.

"And if that means not playing as much but playing in a good team with good players creating chances, then I'd prefer to do that than slog away every week and hardly get a touch of the ball."
If he doesn't think that we can all work out that this means that money is more important to him than actually playing, he's kidding himself.

Isn't he on a pay as you play deal????

Can't be that happy not getting paid every week, hows he going to pay to feed his horses?

Don't know. If he is, he's going to make about £3.50 this year.

Haha, he hardly gets a touch of a ball as it is.

who is this Owen that you all talk of?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

He'll always regret the day he left us.
No doubt we'll hear about it one day.
