Some Dutch dude got a 3 minute hat-trick in a 9-1 away win.

Taped the game and watched it (without knowing the score ffs) after our shambles.

Both teams were so negative it was untrue. One of the worst games I've seen in a while. There's no excuse for Mancini to have spent so much money on that team and be so ****ing negative and boring.

highlight for me was adebayor at the end, think they wanted him to come on in 89th minute and it took him nearly 5 minutes to do his har haha!!!!

          it was an awful game

I'm sure he did that deliberately. Totally took the piss.

In fairness, the scum were the away team and were the better side - passed it better and controlled the game. Although they didn't look too threatening going forward.

The 3 points were there for the taking for them.

Boeteng, Silva, Y.Toure and Barry were shocking.

Silva and Toure especially, woeful .

I think his real problem was that he didn't build a convincing foundation last season. He still seems to be groping for a team shape.

I can't quite get my head round why he wants Yaya Toure to be his creative CM. I think he is best played as deep as possible where he can make your defensive unit good at starting moves (unlike De Jong). I actually think the squad there is ripe for the right manager to come in and have them really challenging. Especially given the standard of the league. If I owned them I'd want a challenge for the title this year as it is a prime opportunity with everyone else way below the standards of recent years.

No arguments they were the better side and kept the ball better, but if they'd showed a semblance of ambition they would've won. City were there for the taking.

The Yaya advanced role thing is truly perplexing. First noticed it against us and that day he sort of trampled all over anyone in his way, bulldozing through people. We were powder puff and he's built like a heavyweight boxer, but whenever I've seen him since it's been truly bizarre. He can't really run anyway and after about an hour of a game he can't ****ing move at all. Love to know Mancini's thinking behind it.

I remember when we came to that conclusion

Surely they would be better served using Barry and Toure holding with Silva infront of them, using Milner and Johnson on the wings. Obviously Milner and Silva would be easily interchangeable. That team would take teams apart with strength and skill and speed.

Yep, I thought last night their players are crying out to be set up in a 4-2-3-1.

Defence, whatever, then two of the DMs (Yaya & Barry maybe, nice balance), with Milner on one wing, Johnson on the other, Silva in the free role off Tevez.

I'd like to see them play Yaya deep in the sort of role he played at Barcelona with Barry and Milner ahead of him - both have a decent balance of attack and defense and can get wide. Then depending on the game Tevez or Adebayor as the central attacker (Tevez has to play no matter what) and then pick the remaining forward position(s) from Johnson and Silva.

Actually one of the strengths of the squad they have collected is it's flexibility. It's just that Mancini seems determined not to see it. I guess though he has titles to his name and we don't. Maybe there is something we are missing (I to would love to hear his explanation for his use of Toure).

Toure shredded us when we played them. As Shaggy said, he bulldozed the whole team over basically. I assume he is there to add height and brute strength to an otherwise short attacking front of Silva, Johnson, Tevez and Milner. That isn't too say that they aren't strong, but without Adebayor or Santa Cruz up top they are lacking any height to win the high balls coming in from the tonnes of crosses wipped in by Milner or Johnson or Silva as well as the hoofs out of the defence.

Yeah he's basically their Momo Sissoko.

His system should work fine in away games where they can naturally playing counter-attacking football but it must be ****ing dull to be a Citeh fan going to home games. I switched it off after 25 mins. I hope he stays in the job as long as possible because he will never take them to the next level. Its pathetic how many defensive players he uses and its crazy that he doesn't play Adam Johnson. Playing Toure, De Jong and Barry all at once is about as negative as you can get
