FFS do people have to ask? City have spent decades in the shadow of the scum and i hope they knock the ****ers right off their ****ing perch to coin a phrase. I don't mind city and the best of luck to them. They might be spending like dickheads at the minute but that will settle down when they start being successful.

Fergie’s a bigger wind up merchant than me. First up, he’s being disrespectful to the players already at City, and extremely disrespectful to the coaching staff there, including the man who helped Fergie achieve greatness, Brian Kidd.

Secondly, it’s a bit rich Fergie accusing other clubs of spending money.

When he first arrived at United, Fergie spent around £1m each (big money back then) on the likes of Steve Bruce and Neil Webb. After a season or so when that wasn’t working he spent over £2m on Gary Pallister, and then it was Paul Parker for £2m when the title still couldn’t be won.

When Leeds pipped United in 1992, Fergie stopped messing around spending loose change. He smashed the transfer record for Roy Keane, spending £3.75m on him (also spending £1m on Dion Dublin and £1.2m on Eric Cantona that summer).

Only then was the title eventually brought back to Old Trafford.

And as soon as United start slipping, out came the cash again.

After Arsenal won the Double in 1998 Fergie spent £12.6million on Dwight Yorke. United won the Treble a year later.

After Arsenal won the Double in 2002 and United won nothing, Fergie spent £30million on Rio Ferdinand. United reclaimed the title the following season.

When Arsenal won the title in 2004, Fergie brought in Wayne Rooney for £26m. He spent £30m on Berbatov, £18m on Carrick, the same on Anderson. Plus £17m on Nani and £17m on Hargreaves.

Fergie is no supercoach. He’s a shopaholic who keeps spending until United win something. He’s got no right to accuse City. Fergie has proved himself to be a shallow hypocrite with this nonsense. Maybe he’s jealous.

After all, you won’t catch City wasting £7m on a player like Bebe.
