Yeah I think we got blown out of the water on that deal at the last minute after Ronaldo played in a friendly/testimonial at Old Trafford. They then massively outbid us and we never stood a chance.Comment

I seem to recall we had a bid of £6m accepted, but then his agent asked for a £1m payment. We told him to leg it & then Utd (strangely) bid £12m for him.Comment
