Does anyone else think that Hazard is this years Turan - lots of people on the forum(s) think he's a hugely talented player and that we should sign him, but it seems that the club aren't seriously considering him as an option.

Comolli seems to have a good knowledge of the French game but we don't seem to be going after this guy, and I have to wonder why this is. I haven't seen us seriously linked with him by any of the papers, you'd think with Comolli's record of looking in France and Hazard being one of the top prospects in France it would be an easy story for the hacks whether it were true or not.

I'm sure at one point we were linked with him, maybe he made it clear that it's Arsenal that he would join, if he came to Britain.

I feel sorry for Hazard. With IRWT as his main advocate we never stood a chance of making him a viable candidate in Comolli's eyes.

He is this years Turan in the sense that they are both fantastic players. Turan should have left Turkey a while ago and is going backwards in his development. Hazard is an incredible player and the only reason people wouldn't be in for him would be the fact that he can play CL football at his current club for the first time, would cost a fortune and might have made it known he doesn't want to move.

Neither of these players are over hyped imo.

Why? because the media, who are notorious for making things up, haven't linked us? Did they link us with henderson or carroll (other than in the last few days of negotations)? No, because our transfer dealings are done behind closed doors - to me, the fact that we haven't been linked makes his signing more likely.

What does "linked" actually mean though? Generally it means some bored journalist has added a players name into the the same sentence as a football club. Have a look at some of the website's showing which players have been "linked" with which clubs? It highlights how much bullsh1t we digest and discuss. Very few of those connections have any basis whatsoever and even fewer come to anything - it's purely guesswork and in no way reflects which targets each club are really after.

Imagine this scenario.

Eden about to get into his van....When a strange man called LFC for the purpose of this story approaches him for a lift. Eden slightly hesitant listens to LFC and offers him a lift. LFC discuss many things on this journey, when suddenly by accident they touch each other when Eden is thinking about which gear to shift down too.....Eden turns his head ever so slowly in LFC's direction........There eyes meet.......Eden gives LFC a wink .......I am sure you can picture the rest of the story
