Eden is a huge fan of Zidane and Zidane said some very nice things about him and I think there is the connection there that will be difficult to break.

Real has the money and power, star quality players, the aspiration, etc. and I can easily see him picking up Real as his first choice for next year.

In terms of their existing squad if the current form is any indication of this year season and if they don't capture either La Liga or CL, they will be making some big changes in the off season and I would not be surprised if they clean the house and let Kaka, Higuain, possibly Benzema and few others go as the club of that size won't put up with "mediocrity".

i know about the Zizou connection - but in reality, lets say Arsenal and Real Madrid were in for him, Wenger (or another manager - kenny / commoli maybe) could just say

"i will develop you into a better player. If you go to Madrid now, you might end up as a squad player. I will develop you into one of the best players in Europe (a-la Fabregas, Nasri, Henry etc) and then you can go to Madrid and have the same impact as Zidane did. Zidane didn't go there until he was 29. Look at Canales - you don't want to end up like him"

We will take Barca down and you have a very big role to play in that accomplishment.

I'm not sure we ever did. Most found about him when we played Lille few years back but by then he was already a star in making and our chances of signing him were slim even then.
