This season poor performance and lack of CL qualification is going to cost us dearly.

Disagree. We need Clever Buys and Good Management. Dortmund are a great example. Newcastle have shown it this season.

You can still build a very good squad and an excellent 1st Team without Spending big. A good Manager with an good eye for Talent and ability to mould the team together can do that.

Newcastle are having a one-off season and still wont finish in the top 4. They arent what we should be aspiring to.

I disagree with the notion that we are 'falling behind' because we may be missing out on 'star players'.

I believe Kenny still has a good eye for talent and can still mould us into a great team. We just have to be clever and 'savvy' about our transfers, we don't need to throw huge amounts of money at a problem. We can still build a great squad and 1st team with or without huge amounts of money just like other teams have shown.

Yeah but the point is that missing out on star players and being in the top 4 doesnt really go hand in hand. You say we need to be clever with our transfers, as newcastle clearly have - yet even that isnt going to get them into the CL. And it most likely wont for us either.

This is the way it is now - you spend big or you dont compete.
