    Barcelona

The best team ever, that is a fact. They play in another dimension than everyone else.

The best attacking football ever. The best defensive football ever. The best midfield play ever. You could go on and on and on.

They are just a joy to watch. What a fantastic brilliant team.

All that thanks to three Dutch managers that built up the club to what it is today. Cruyff, Van Gaal and Reijkaard.

    That is not a fact!

They are an awesome side to watch and they play amazing football but to say they're the best side ever as a fact is ridiculous!

best ever team is hugely subjective

there is even less agreement on this than best ever player.

they have probably been the best in the world for the last few years. Ever oh thats a difficult one.

great to watch though and even better to see the special one put in his place if even only for one game

I love them. If you don't love watching them play you don't love football. Barca

Absolutely. Which makes some of the comments in the El Clasico thread before the game yesterday all the more bizarre. "I'm getting tired of Barcelona" etc

Didn't see a thread like this after the Hercules game, did we?

Prior to last night i honestly thought that Pep and Barca had peaked and were on a slow downward trajectory. Shows you what i know about football

sheer sheer class - i try to watch barca every week on la liga. Someone in i think the champions league thread or el clasico thread made a ridiculous comment that teams now know how barca play and they will be found out.....it was the night i watched them against panathankos last week iirc.....and i thought hmm i want say anything just yet and i know it was only panathakos but that was special - they cruised past them - but whats more impressive is to go and do it in el clasico against a strong real madrid side and just really tear them apart - there were times last night when barca could have opened them up more and it was almost like they just seemed to think "na...that through ball to play villa in one and one is far too easy, lets keep it for any 10 minutes and see what else we can do"

I am 28 nearly 29 - and although it is easy to have a bit of bias towards us (ie the 5-0 against forest etc) but for me that really was the best performance I have ever seen by any team in my life time and really just don't know how it could be bettered - i am went to bed last night like a kid at christmas thinking about it - and woke up this morning ands just want to tell everyone i see about it.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

the only weakness is Valdes who I don't rate at all, they had the choice who to keep Reina and Valdes and choose the later, although they've been so successful it doesn't matter I bet they wished they'd kept Reina. The football they play is brilliant, Madrid last night were reduced to humping hopeful long balls, I've never seen a Madrid team do that before. I was actually laughing watching it last night, it so so much fun to watch. The way Madrid players (Especially Ramos and Carvalho) behaved during the match it was like good v's evil. Just seeing that greasy ratfaced f'cker get such a beatdown along with Maureen made my week. Felt a little sorry for Xabi though.

This Barca team and especially this performance is the best I have ever seen in my 30 years. The way the kept possession and found space was magical.

Just want to echo those sentiments about Barca, never seen such a performance and I just refuse to believe there has been a club side that is on par with this team. They have exceptional ability, work rate, team work, stamina and hunger.

The way they pressed Madrid all over the pitch was very impressive, I remember noting that the Madrid players couldn't pass the ball and when it went back to Casillas the Barca players backed off him but guarded every outlet for him, he couldn't do anything and he knew it, but took a punt upfield where a Barca player won it and an attack started.

To be able to offer that sort of pressue and movement off the ball you have to be incredibly good physical shape.

Then there are the individuals in the team Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Villa and even Pedro and Alves, unbelievable really.

In my opinion football has become so advanced in all aspects, technical, tactical and physical, that it's hard to compare teams between era's but pitting any other team from another era against this team would only result in a Barca win IMO.
                              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
