    how can you say that

'Arry is simply a managerial genius do you not read the papers!
Hodgson has 36, yes 36 years experience and is the King of the LMA
Bruce simply hasn't been backed properly and is clearly the next big manager

Personally I think it would be funny as **** if any of those got the England job, an awful list of 'candidates'

It's up there with Mike Bassett.

The FA are a ****ing joke.

Number one on their criteria is that the next manager has to be English despite there being, without doubt, the worst set of candidates available in living memory.

Surely, number one on their criteria should be the best manager available and willing to take the job. A Hiddink type for example.

Funny how the whole of the country has decided that Capello is a **** manager despite his glittering CV but would be happy for Redknapp, Hodgson, Allardyce etc to take his place - a list of candidates that between them don't even have a tenth of the honours that Capello has

We need to get realistic in this country and actually see a Quarter final at a World Cup or European Championships as being fairly successful with the limited players we have available (at least currently) instead of a disastrous failure.

If England had their best eleven available and on form theyve got a outside chance of doing well, even winning, the Euros but that would only be possible if they avoided Spain and Germany completely which would be doubtful.

Depending on the draw i think getting out of the group would be decent enough, a semi final being Utopia!

Well I appear to be in a minority of one, but I think Harry would do decent job as England manager.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A minority of one, really ? Haven't you been reading the sports pages, or listening to the expert pundits ? It's a foregone conclusion now...'Arry' Will/Would win everthing with England.

edit: Ok, you meant on here, did'nt you.

He's probably the best English candidate, but that doesn't say much for the quality of English managers.

I don't care too much for the English national team, but I'd look at Wenger for the job.

I don't think being a tactical genius or coach is the most important part of the job. Team spirit, confidence and motivation probably are and I think he's do alright in that regard. And if we're going to lose, as we do, at least it would be done with more attacking football.

England have been unwatchable since '96. I hate watching England and although I'd love England to do well they never do so I'm more than happy to watch the Hodgson circus over the Cappello one.

Was thinking the same the other day, Wenger would be a brilliant choice for england. He'd be ideal to nurture through young players and the ingerlund fans would get to enjoy a lovely brand of football that they frankly dont deserve.

But he'd be a great choice IMO.

What would worry me about Redknapp getting the England job is that might mean Spurs get a decent manager and could become a bigger threat...
