Roy would be correct though, it is the best way, not a practitioner of what he preaches though is he!

Roy is so much funnier when viewed from a distance.

Come the end of the season I half expect Steve Coogan to rip off the Hodgson mask to show us it's been him all along.

        AHA!

Training really doesn't get any better, never managed such a clueless bunch in my life. I should be managing in the Europa league this week!

instead I'm on the training ground with a bunch of players who seem to think they can pass the ball around like Barcelona.

It's no wonder the club are so far down the table, they attack without a care in the world. I'll coach that out of them.

Hodgson 'wounded' by time with Reds
                (UKPA) – 6 hours ago
Roy Hodgson admits he was "wounded" by events during his time at Liverpool which culminated in him being sacked after only six months in charge.
Hodgson is back in football just 37 days after being shown the exit door at Anfield in charge of West Brom. He prefers to look to the future rather than reflect on his spell with the Reds. But Hodgson is honest enough to concede his pride was hurt although his self belief has not been affected.
"I didn't feel drained but you do feel wounded," he said.
"I have had a very good spell in my career and it's a long time since I have had a very serious knock-back so, when it comes, it wounds you.
"You wouldn't be human if it didn't but it hasn't dented any confidence or belief. But I can't lie and say it didn't hurt me, or I didn't care, because, of course, I care.
"I care very passionately about my job and I care about football and I have had an awful lot of praise. So, when you get the opposite, it's not something you particularly embrace, but, if you've got half a brain, you accept that as being part of the job or par for the course."
Hodgson admits he feared his days at Liverpool would be numbered after the departure of owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett and feels more wanted by the Baggies.
He said: "The people who wanted me at Liverpool didn't last too long. The people who employed me didn't stay for too long. The new owners found themselves in a difficult situation because we weren't winning enough games and the fans were making it perfectly clear they wanted me gone and somebody else in.
"To be fair to them, they were in a very difficult situation. I can't for one minute suggest I was wanted at Liverpool.
"But hopefully everyone will accept this club made a considerable effort to get me and worked hard to persuade me to come and try to help preserve the status so, of course, I feel much more wanted. But I have been lucky. I felt wanted at Fulham and there aren't that many clubs where I haven't felt wanted."

"I didn't feel drained [by what happened at Liverpool] but of course you do feel wounded," Hodgson said. "I've had a very good spell in my career and it was a long while since I'd had a serious knockback in my career.

"It hasn't dented my belief or confidence but I can't lie and say it didn't hurt me or I didn't care. I've had an awful amount of praise and when you get the opposite it's not something you necessarily embrace."

He argued he has nothing to prove after a 35-year career in management. "I can't for one minute suggest that I felt wanted at Liverpool," Hodgson said. "But at West Brom I think everybody will accept that the club made quite a concerted effort to get me, and persuade me that I should come and be with them and help try to preserve the status, so of course I feel more wanted here.

"What happened at Liverpool doesn't make me more determined, I couldn't be more determined. I don't feel I've got anything to prove, they were looking for somebody who had nothing to prove."

His first game is against Black Country rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers this Sunday and he admits he would settle for another act of escapology if that is what it takes to secure Premier League survival.

"I would settle for the last day, absolutely. I don't care how we stay in the Premier League as long as we stay there. If we stay up and people say we did fantastically well with good football that would be lovely. But if people say how lucky we were, that'll do for me as well. I don't mind being lucky.

"Whatever I say doesn't matter, though. What counts for something is every Saturday afternoon, or Sunday or Monday, that 90 minutes. We've got 12 times 95 minutes – I don't know how many minutes that is, but every one is going to count."

“Of course you feel wounded. It’s better if the fans say, ‘We know of him, we know what he can do’. I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t that way at West Brom.”

But I have been lucky. I felt wanted at Fulham and there aren't that many clubs where I haven't felt wanted."

"Clubs which allow you to do the job properly and embrace your philosophies are very important. I believe West Brom are that sort of club," he said.

                          From YNWA:

Every answer to every question is designed to lower expectations, self praise and shift any blame onto others even for things that haven't yet happened, its remarkable stuff.

Journalist: Have you been for a dump this morning Roy?

Hodgson: Well I wouldn't like to say whether I have ot not, I wouldn't want to make any rash statements about my bowel movements that could come back to haunt me. I have over 60 years of experience of sh*tting, so needless to say if I did have one then it would have landed in exactly the right place in the bowl, causing a utopian plop.

Unless of course, some unforeseen circumstances meant that the goalposts had been moved I suppose you would say, or the toilet in this case - some unexpected event such as a minor earthquake (which is rare but not unheard of in the West Midlands) causing the toilet to move slightly and the poo to land to one side leaving somewhat of a skid.

Regardless, what is without question is that a man with my level of experience would not place the turd incorrectly myself, it would have to be down to some form of external interference which is completely out of my control. Can I continue to peform in the same way here, can I continue to splash not slide? Well with the resources I have to use, the playing squad I have I'm not sure - however what I can assure you that nobody could possibly do a better job that I am doing here.

I posted a comment on the thread about how Sammy's about a foot too tall. The author took the time to explain that Sammy is behind Roy and is standing on higher ground, then removed the comment

I love this too, notice Roy's sneaky cupping of a fart towards the end...
