"There'll be the odd game where you think you didn't get what you deserved but over the 38 games you have to believe what you do, how you play and how you shape up on the field will give you the results you deserve."
"If we had had five points, which we should definitely have had because the Stoke game was a point totally lost in bizarre circumstances, we might have been saying 'it's not great but it's not too bad'," he explained.
"We are that point behind where we want to be, and ideally we would have had seven or eight points and it would have been a very good start.
"But the fact is starts are starts, middles are middles and ends are ends and the bottom line in the Premier League is that you've just got to keep playing and keep trying to get points in every game you play.
"Last year the start was quite reasonable, I think, and then they went 16 games where they hardly took any points and we had to take 20 from the last 12.
"That is ridiculous really, because 20 points from 12 for teams like ourselves is going to be nigh-on impossible for the best part of the season.
"What we've got to keep doing is making sure every time we go on the field we're up for it, we're ready and we make it very difficult for the opposition and give ourselves a chance of getting a result - ideally a win but if that's not possible for some reason staying in the game for long enough to get yourself a draw.

Unreal...
I am trying to imagine what an idiot someone need to be to hire someone like him...

Was convinced this was a piss take....unbelievable

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I can't believe this is real.
What next.
"Well last night I decided to be a good husband and cook dinner for my lovely wife. I took a plate, placed it on the floor and shat right on it. I made a big piece and presented it to the wife. She complained about the dinner I made but you know, had it been a nice steak then any fair minded individual would have agreed that it would have been a great meal."
He said: "It was too early, wasn't it? There were 90 minutes left to play when we were 2-0 up, so the game starts all over again. But I think we should give credit to Sunderland for really mounting a strong challenge and getting over the disappointment of a poor start both in terms of conceding goals and maybe giving the ball away far more than Steve would like in that early spell.
"At half-time, it was up to us to get our minds right again and not to think about the fact that we had been 2-0 up, but to make sure that we got ourselves organised enough to get a result in the second half, a result being either a draw or a victory.
"You have got to put it out of your mind because if you are not careful, you really waste your chance because you go from 2-0 up to 2-3 or 2-4."
