I'm not so sure. It's unfair to leave a young lad like Kelly so exposed defensively.

I have been impressed with him in every appearence this season, very solid at the back and quite good going forward. Hope he gets some more league games and then trying pushing GJ further up the pitch.

He seems to be able to handle the defensive side of the game alot better than Johnson. Personally i'd like to see the Kelly/Johnson option used at least once.

Kelly should be a CB, long term. I'd like to see him tried there at some point this season. He has all the tools.

To be fair Skrtle and Agger where super today....at long last we may the get to see the pairing that we've been looking forward to for quite a while now. That said, Carragher could roll back the years under Kenny.

i'm sure he will at some point, been solid at RB though and good to improve his mobility. Its all experience for the lad, we have a genuine talent on our hands here.

i think with all young players you cant get carried away.

he has to continue working hard and listening to all of the coaches. He looks good at right back and has the mobility to get up and down the pitch.

Keeps things simple, doesnt get too excited. Very good prospect.

He was very good today, I am wary of rushing young players into the first team though, especially in defence. I think gently easing him in is the best way to go.
I do think in Kelly and Ayala we have two good CB's for the future.

Another thing he has been is consistent.

Every game I have seen him play hes been very solid, touch of the Gerrards about this lad, said it from day one.

I think it works on a points system with being caught offside awarded the most. He cleaned up.
