No I get the Sterling hype cause he's an attacking type player as compared to Kelly the defender who can get forward. With Sterling ( last years vintage) he's exciting as he likes to take his man on albeit with not much end product but he gets you on the edge of your seat.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Defender tend to develop later, as defending is 90% in your head.
I think he looks pretty solid, and is good cover at both Fullback and in the middle.
I have not yet written off Wisdom, as I think he has the attributes to play centreback.
Flannagan on the other hand is someone who fails to impress technically or physique. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Can't disagree with any of that.Originally posted by Charly View PostDefender tend to develop later, as defending is 90% in your head.

Any idea how long Kelly's contract has to run?Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

According to Wikipedia his contract runs until 2017. I like Kelly but IMO he really has to put these injuries behind him, get a good run of games and challenge for a first team place if he is to have a future here beyond the next couple of seasons. I know people talk of him as a CB but given all the players we have there I just can't see him being given a chance there as there are at least 4 people ahead of him.Originally posted by SB View PostCan't disagree with any of that.

2017 hey. I thought we'd given him a new contract prior to his injury last season. Looks like I was right.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostAccording to Wikipedia his contract runs until 2017. You are spot on with the rest too.

They were discussing the game on the radio (CityTalk) yesterday and apparently he played really well.Originally posted by Reece View PostHow did he play against Oldham? I've not seen any of the highlights.
I feel a bit sorry for him as his decent performance has gone virtually unnoticed as the game wasn't televised
We could really do with him back to his best and pushing to take that place off Johnson. I feel part of Glen's malaise is the fact there's no competition for his place. I think he's become complacent.

I think its probably a good thing that there isn't too much expectation on him at the minute. He needs easing back in after all his injury troubles. If he can get himself fit for a decent period he will start getting chances given Johnson's form and our injury list."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

i noticed on the tv highlights that sterling was making a run and would hold the ball up waiting for kelly to show on the overlap, where there was tonnes of space, at least twice. kelly seemed unsure of what to do and was not up with the play, so sterling then had to go inside.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Non chalant. Not even chalant in the slightest. Not a hint of chalant anywhere to be seenOriginally posted by BigChief View PostSaw the last 10 minutes of the game on LFC.TV last night. Sterling was looking really good. Non-chalant even. Held the ball up really well and was not overawed by anyone. Looks like Peters has been whispering in his ear too.
