    Hapless Carson dropped

West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo has dropped goalkeeper Scott Carson because "he's made a couple of mistakes in the past couple of weeks".

Carson will be replaced by Boaz Myhill for the Premier League visit of Blackpool on Saturday.

Di Matteo said Carson, 25, was still young and the decision to drop him was "a difficult situation".

The Cumbrian-born keeper, who captains the club, last played for them in their 3-0 defeat by Fulham on 4 January.

In that game he allowed a Simon Davies shot to slide through his hands.

West Brom lie 16th in the Premier League and had the embarrassment of being beaten by Championship side Reading in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Di Matteo told the BBC: "I think it's the right opportunity to play Myhill so he can show how good he is."

The Welsh keeper came to the Hawthorns in July 2010 in a £1.5m deal from Hull City, but he has yet to establish himself in the Midlands side.

Press speculation has linked the club with Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.

I've seen it. The poor bloke is a walking howler.

I remember in 2005 arguing with a load of my mates who, to a man, thought Carson was better than Reina.

I had almost the exact same argument except they also thought Kirkland was better than Reina too.

            It's ironic really.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'm sure the goal conceded in the first leg was a mistake by him.

Terrible goalie. Don't know who's worse, Carson or Kirkland.
