Johnson's defending has definitely improved and he has shown his versatility too. I think he has been unlucky not to have few more goals & assists to his name aswell.

He's been very underrated by many over last couple of years.
Granted he's been very consistent this season but he showed tons of skills and qualities in the past as well but the problem was always the fee Rafa paid for him and the player he replaced.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

For me it's not the fee or who he replaced it was more so his general defending and positional play, which has improved dramatically over the last year or so. I believe a defender must be able to defend first and foremost and everything after that is a bonus.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field.
