    Walcott

I think he's good and will become better....would've liked him at LFC. But....

How much ****ing confidence does he lack in front of goal, in terms of his finishing?

Today was just the latest example of him racing through on goal, just him and the keeper - and trying a stupidly executed layoff to a team mate for a tap-in, which would've BEEN a tap in, but for Walcott's **** layoff.

I remember he did this out in the Nou Camp last season in the CL, where he just about got away with it, because his team mate scored despite his **** little ball.

But seriously, in on the keeper, in loads of space - and he frequently doesnt have the bottle/confidence to just finish.

Major flaw in his game, especially given his pace and ability to get in behind.

He's an instinctive player, not a thinking one.

    Not much else to discuss.

I don't think he's kicked on as most expected.

I had no problem with him playing that square ball - as you say it was a tap-in for the lad, or should've been had the ball been anywhere near good.

I do agree he lacks confidence in front of goal but in this instance I thought it showed good awareness. I like a player who's prepared to square it to a mate in a better position even when he could score himself...although as I've said I don't like Walcott very much.

Square it to a mate in a better position maybe, but when you're in on the keeper, if you're a proper striker/goalscorer, you dont even think about passing. You just finish.

The lad cant do it. And it's not just a one-off either, i've noticed it a lot. It's even worse when his layoff is **** and causes the team mate to miss

Yeah he's done it loads of times, and at the pace he was going at today he could easily have skated round the keeper and scored. Or just slotted it. Definite lack of confidence although if the very basic pass today had been accurate they would've scored anyway. But he ****ed that up too

Walcott's a funny one, he can be a ruthless finisher, but yea at times he's a bit reluctant to shoot at goal when given the opportunity.

He's having a decent season though, imo.

yep defo not kicked on, cost them 12million + Wages and reckon they would do well to recoup that now. for a great talent thats not all that is it?

Harsh, i know stats aren't everything but when it comes to assists and goals(well for an attack minded player) they are significant.

In the 2009-2010 season, Walcott scored 4 goals and made 3 assists out of 30 appearances.
In 2010-2011, he's made 22 appearances to date, and already scored 10 goals and assisted 6 times.

So to say he hasn't kicked on is a bit wide of the mark.
