As for Teletex/Ceefax/Oracle....it was obviously amazing and I spent hours on there every day, reading every single page of interest. Football 'News in Brief' was possibly my favourite, got some absolute gold out of those pages.

Used to love Bamboozle on Channel 4 text.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Never called Clubcall, but yes i too used to wait for the their next exciting update, used to sit there hoping we've really signed Boban or someone of that ilk. I'm sure it was only Oracle/teletext that used to have the adverts and not ceefax.

Like Shaggy i used to love Teletext/Ceefax, hours of fun, used to hate when there were 10's of pages and maybe read to slowly to miss the last bit of the page and had to wait till the page came round again.

Remember when BBC2 at nights used to not have programming and Ceefax used to come on, in fact i remember as kid when TV used to 'finish', the National anthem would play and then nothing or the BBC test card (that picture of that girl and her toys playing noughts and crosses).
        We come not to play.

I used to ****ing hate that. Or put it on HOLD and by the time you're ready to move on it skips a page or two and again you have to wait for it to come back round.

Used to get up in the morning, straight on to teletext, home from school, straight on teletext for another couple of hours. ALL the sport stuff, even Rugby League tables , table tennis etc, then the entertainment, music pages, showbiz gossip, letters pages, Sam Brady TV critic, ****ing everything ...used to drive my folks insane

Glad it wasn't just me then, used to piss my family off no end (esp my younger brother who wanted to watch his children's programmes ).

Best headline I recall was something like:

REDS IN MILAN SWOOP! (And AC were the bollocks then, mind)

I nearly creamed myself at the thought of some Italian superstar. It was us signing Baros.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
