Am I the only one who think it's kind of a relief he's gone?

He just didn't look interested in playing for us anymore and rightly so. He was there to win trophies now we don't have to feel like anyone might be unhappy about Liverpool's drop in stature over the last couple of years.

We can now begin to rebuild without Fernando Torres and build a new squad capable of challenging for honours. New owners, new manager and now new players. We also don't have to rely on Torres alone to produce all the magic. We should look to get a strong squad. Good player in every position.

Don't be too down about Torres for we have alway's had special players and will continue to produce and sign special players.

Let's now focus on what we do have! YNWA

I totally agree with all that, but the bit in bold Even more so.

I remember saying so often, during the Hodgson era, when people were saying 'they will take their time, not rush, and see what they want to do' - and i said 'fine, but it will cost us Torres' - well the chickens have certainly come home to roost now, havent they? Let's just hope Carroll and Suarez can take us further.

But wasn't Torres close to leaving in the summer, and had to be convinced to stay? In which case it's likely that the takeover saga and pisspoor start to the season had just as much if not more influence.

i don't see carroll's mug on tv telling everyone that liverpool is a big club and by extension, newcastle is a joke. much as i hate the ******* on a personal level, he's showing more class than torres has so far after a big money transfer.

as for suarez, i don't think anyone is going to argue that ajax is anything but a selling club and this is clearly a step up for a player who can barely even speak dutch.

I know, I know. Wishful thinking really! Just like most other people I'm really hurt by the way & manner in which he left. Watching him on form was to approach nirvana & I want to keep those memories rather than be bitter - no matter how much I want to punch him in the nose.
