As for 1985-86 - also the kind of era where you'd see one match on tv per fortnight, if you were lucky. Invariably, Liverpool vs _________

Who do you expect a 5-6 year old kid, who got to watch LFC more infinitely more than any other team and got to know their players more than any others, to support?
I don't know any such modern day Chelsea fans. Do you?

I was actually torn between Wimbledon and Liverpool. In the double winning season, Wimbledon got promoted to the first division.
    Oh I don't know.

      WTF?

Owen isnt welcome back at LFC because he went to them. Nothing to do with Newcastle.

Just read some of the comments on the Chelsea forum under "Welcome to Chelsea Fernando Torres" title. Sick to the back teeth. Dirty f*cking scumbags. Torres - f*ck you, you rat - particularly with that "top club " comment.

Actually Rafa kept his foot against the door on that one and said no, One of his better decisions before he went crazy.

Perfect example: Evertonians hate Rooney,('once a blue, always a blue') cos he went to the Mancs but will they be disappointed when he plays the last few years of his career with them? Will they ****.

Difference is, Everton are a small team.

Everton = Small club that will be delighted to get a former great player back, regardless of his current ability.

I mean when it became clear he was leaving Madrid, he was going to welcomed back at Liverpool. Nothing to do with his time at United.

Even then, i'm not sure he would've been universally welcomed back, not given the way he left. Rafa wouldnt have been waiting with open arms, for sure and i doubt all the fans would.

Superstitious? As Torres kind of points out, we stopped getting to finals when he arrived.

Torres not playing v Liverpool: neither club would want this to be his debut. Too much for both to lose. Bad psychology for the player.

Just been chatting online with a Chelsea mate of mine, lad called Peregrine Lefevre, and he says he's "bally excited" about it and has already been out to buy his Torres 9 jersey. He said he's his favourite player already and expects him to "kick a couple of goals on Sunday", but if they don't beat us they're probably out of the title race and so will lend his support to Arsenal.

I really think Suarez will net a couple and we beat them.
