Thats with last season's CL group stage.

    Its all about the stadium.

Not really any problem in terms of 'you can only spend what you earn' because they are turning over a shedload.

Obviously depends what their overall operating costs will be, but wages is the biggest part of that, and their wage bill isnt going to be much more than about £140m surely. I suppose there is tax too, but still.

Man City, on the other hand, are ****ed. Their wage bill is more than their revenue.

Their wage bill is equivalent of 108% of their revenue

The Chavs wage bill for last year was reported as being £172m

Ah really? That's incredible, i was being far too conservative with my estimate then

That would leave them a maximum of £37m to spend on players then - and that's before other costs are removed....

            Makes much better reading

Surely they must be on a major quest to get their wage bill down then.

To put it into context, i think i read somewhere that our wage bill is something like £90m a year. Which is less than half of our revenue

True, but since they just released losses of £70 million and just spent £70 million with out income.

Yeah, it's tough to see how they can manage it, but they arent idiots, their money-men will be clued up so i'm sure they must have something up their sleeve.

Not sure those figures paint an accurate picture of their accounts. And, you can't really push down the wage bill, especially if you want to attract the best players.

No but their strategy will surely have to be based around getting rid of older players that dont contribute too much, but command hefty salaries. Hence why the likes of Ballack, Deco, Carvalho, Joe Cole etc were all let go.

But they replaced them with Torres, Luiz and Rmierez. I bet there on a hefty amount every week.

I'm pretty convinced that 99% of money men are very much idiots!

Well unless you think chelsea are just going to accept not being allowed to compete in european football, they must have some kind of plan to make themselves rule-compliant.

We will never be able to match Barcelona and Real Madrid because they have different TV deals.

If we would have our own TV deal then we would easily earn £50m+ more a year for example. Now we must share the money with clubs that would almost earn nothing if they had their own TV deal.

this just tells me that spurs are ****ed.

they have an absolutely massive wage bill. they are unlikely to qualify for the CL again this season and next season we will be up there too. with the time it'll take to get them into a new stadium (assuming WHU take the olympic) then there's a real chance that they won't even be allowed to play Europa League given the FFP rules.
