    He should be the 2nd name down in midfield after Allen. His performances against Man City and Arsenal were excellent.
    He plays without fear and as so many of our players are 'mental midgets' (C) The Anfield Wrap it's refreshing to see someone play without fear.

      when shelvey returned from loan at blackpool i wasnt wanting him to be thrust into the first team because i didnt feel he was good enough. but butter my arse he proved me wrong with some standout performances (albeit in a poor team) in the last couple of months.

      delighted we kept him this year rather than loan him back out and as someone already mentioned having shelvey on the books makes me less worried over having to play gerrard less given his career could be about to slow down with age.

      the thought of a lucas, allen, shelvey midfield 3 in the future is exciting. and if we get to keep sahin thats a wonderfully talented 4 players to have on the books.

      hopefully shelvey can really kick on this season and become the beast he has the potential to be.
