Saw his through pass yesterday - very nice. He's still wasteful though. Very frustrating player to watch.

Jonjo often seems to fade in the second half of games that he starts in.
Needs another dodgey cuddle from brendan.

          Still too bald.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've been made the escaped goat, says Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey

SIMON HART MONDAY 04 FEBRUARY 2013

Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey suggested yesterday that he was made an escaped goat for his team's poor performance in the 3-1 defeat at Stoke City on Boxing Day – since when he has been left out on the periphery of the first-team.

The 20-year-old midfielder made a promising start to the season under Brendan Rodgers, culminating in his first senior England appearance in October's World Cup qualifier against San Marino. However, after 14 league appearances until Christmas, Shelvey has not featured in the Premier League since the loss at Stoke.

He said: "I played against Stoke and obviously I didn't have too great a game. I had a few personal issues that were going on in my life. I didn't think I was the only one that had a bad game that day but I was the one that suffered if you know what I mean."

Shelvey, speaking ahead of England Under-21s' friendly against Sweden in Walsall on Tuesday night, has started one game since – the FA Cup third-round tie at Mansfield – though he came off the bench for the fourth-round defeat at Oldham. "You just have to take it on the chin and work hard in training and try to get myself back in the team which I'm trying to do," he added.

Was that when he got a load of stick on Twitter and deleted his account?

Yep and he came back about two days later and said he didn't delete it due to stick but "for personal reasons"

I like Shelvey - think he has bags of potential - but he didn't really push on from some impressive performances early in the season, and he's definitely behind Henderson in the pecking order now.

                      Escaped goat?!

Did Dunc edit that article by any chance?

I like Shelvey a lot, he's got a good attitude and a good range of passing but if it's a straight choice between him and Henderson (which it is) then I'll have Henderson's pressing any day of the week.

It should also be said that the lad has a terrific hair cut.

Bit of a hissy fit there from The Jonj I think. He was poor for a while before being dropped. He'll have to wait for his chance now.

He lost it a bit after his red card against United, when he came back into the team he seemed a little toothless and timid but then he started getting that back.

Such is life, he is young and will get over it. Hope his eyes and mind are firmly fixed on what Stevie G is doing.
