Still think we should have sent him out on loan in January will a callback clause.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Curious... would you guys rather we played Suso and loaned out Shelvey or vice versa?

Yeah you're right. Also he's seemed to play out of position on the left quite a few times since he's come back and that won't help him.

Same as playing Suso on the right hand side of the front three. Although they've both got quite a task to find a place in midfield at the moment with Gerrard, Lucas and Henderson.

            Worked well last season.

Probably both really. Now we've got Coutinho in and Downing is a regular it's going to be difficult for Suso and / or Shelvey to make the 18 most weeks. I see no harm in loaning both out for the rest of the season.

Stick a callback clause in just to be on the safe side and let them go out and get games.

This is a really odd one, out of all the players JS was one of those that seemed to have the managers eye, so this comes a bit out of the blue.

I can't believe the manager hasn't communicated to JS the reasons for his omittance from games, he seemed to speak to him quite a lot.

But JS did speak of having some personal problems in his life lately, so could be that's had an effect, must be weird being told you're the future...with a manager making out he has big plans for you, and then to be out of the team, that along with his personal issues may have given him a poor view of things is all, at a time when he was vulnerable to such thoughts..

Hopefully he'll get over it, personal and football.

Was thinking the same. Plus at oldham when BR was looking to turn the game around the Jonj was one of the players he sent on so he clearly still has faith.

Jon Jo clearly has the ability, but it needs to be channeled in the right ways. He was starting to build a head of steam until he got sent off in the Utd game, since then he hasnt really been as effective in the league.

Needs to buckle down, impress the manager and when brought on show that desire again.

Perhaps it is just him feeling he has dropped down the pecking order - which I think he clearly has. The real reason for that has been the form of Henderson. I think in the long run he'll be fine - at the minute though or best midfield is Lucas - Gerrard - Henderson.

I don't doubt that's what he feels, i'm just surprised he feels like he's the sole fall guy, i thought it looked like he had a good relationship with the manager, so would have been told the reasons behind him missing games, but his reaction is to think he's being blamed, when in reality it's just about form, his not so good and other players better.

Best thing he can do is just say nothing, work hard, prove to the manager he should pick you over another.

I think there is a real danger of over interpreting what he said too though. His statement is pretty much correct - he was the one that dropped out and most of the rest of that team are still playing games - I'm not sure he is saying that he was 'victimised' or anything. I'm also not sure that saying nothing to the media really helps either - look at the myriad rumours that have been spread on here based on the way a player has looked during a game or whatever.

If he does what he says he will, i.e. work hard to earn a place in the team, then I have no problems with what he is saying there.

He only needs to look at Henderson for inspiration. I really like the idea that the reserves can get back in the first team with hard work and that the first teamers have to work hard to keep there place , In seasons gone by to many of our first team have played week in, week out knowing there place would not really be challenged.

Right so we get knocked out of the FA cup and he doesn't get in the squad the next week and he is being made the scapegoat? Think he should have a word with Skrtel about scapegoats?

I just think things like this don't need saying is all,

I didn't think I was the only one that had a bad game that day but I was the one that suffered if you know what I mean."
forget about saying fellow team mates played poorly, and how he's the only one to be singled out, and show the manager he needs to pick you because you're good enough.

He wasn't though. Skrtel got bombed out too.
