after every game we don't win, there is a thread about one of the lfc players. Whether its carra, gerrard, even when torres was here. When we win 'posters get shot down if they try to vent some anger at any players - because we should savour the moment and not moan. just saying it how i see it. Not picking at your post. but the kuyt bashing was evident in some match threads against chelsea and wolves etc, but posters would tell them to be quite, we won he played hard etc. Same for most of the players. We all generally have our favourites and ones we dislike. Example maxi is always waiting to be shot down by some and so is carragher. The knifes come out when we don't win. We need quality in our starting 11. I think some of the players mentioned are good sqaud players whom we should retain. The last thing we want is a rafa style situation, where we say we have 11 great players and no one good of the bench.

You're making little sense though. Kuyt IS one of my 'favourites' - but he has evidently become not good enough.

      You cant mask the facts.

I agree he is not good enough for the 1st team.

What i do not agree with is 'some posters' who wish to sell him. We need good squad players. I don't think we can afford to buy 10m+ young players to leave them on the bench.

Kuyt will be slowly moved out of the team when carroll and suarez are both fully fit and ready to go. But we have have little options if we sold kuyt and either got injured. Same can be said of players like carragher and maxi. We need players like them to fill the squad. Whilst we rebuild and integrate new players into first 11. Bit like utd, nevielle, scholes, giggs all slowly replaced but retained aa they offer good quality. If they did get rid there squad would be thin.

If people wish to sell him, that's their perogative, and it's not 'bashing' him, it's just an opinion.

Keep him as a back up striker for Suarez and Carroll.

He was woeful yesterday. So sloppy in possession. I'd be happy to see him stay as a squad player but in order to break back into the top 4 we really need players who are going to do damage up front. We need to strengthen both wings in the summer.

also, if his touch was zero, then why does pepe often play long passes to him from goal kicks......

Dirks biggest problem is that he is too much of a team player - just gets on with it and does what is asked of him by the manager. If that is covering for a ****ty right back that can't defend for 3 years, or if it is chasing down all 4 defenders - like he did last week against chelsea......

Also, someone like Lavezzi or Aguero isnt going to do that.......

Time and time again yesterday both Kuyt and Suarez made the same run, or looked for space in the same areas.

I don't think that helped Dirk to be honest but he also generally looked knackered.

I like to keep him as a squad player as we will need an experience and that is it.

He should not be the regular first starter any longer and as soon as Carroll is healthy and Suarez hit the ground running we will probably see him in the diminished role.

Next year he will be coming from the bench if he is still around.

After the chelsea game last week, you were singing Kuyt's praises.......and then after the wigan game he was a bag of ****e.....

I hear we could be linked with Benzema - and to be honest a front 3 of Benzema, Carroll and Suarez would be class - with gerrard and meirales in midfield......however, every top team needs a top squad and i still think Kuyt would get plenty of gametime to be honest - especially because he is so versatile....

Where did i say he was a bag of ****e, out of interest? Please show me a link....

He was excellent in his workrate at Chelsea, but in a game against sides like wigan, who will put men behind the ball, you need a bit of quality, maybe some electric pace or trickery to open them up, and he doesnt have it.

Surely it was a simple enough point to grasp, although clearly not.

If only football was as one-dimensional as your post above requires it to be.

I think Kuyts problem is his age. The way he works means he will of course be less effective as he gets older.

I think if he became a squad player we would start to see the best of Dirk again as he would not be as drained as he has been this season. It is worth noting that of late under Kenny he has been superb in leading the line on his own, he just ran out of steam yesterday.

I think the key question would be though whether or not Dirk would accept becoming a squad player. I'm not sure he's the type of player to want to wait in the wings and collect his wages.

He can lead the line in the sense that he'll never stop running or working. He wont add quality though, or much in the way of goal threat/creativity. Unless he's on the end of a good pass or cross, and is only required to finish, then he doesnt look like scoring goals.
