He was astonishing, he still was at times last season but it seems like anytime he was getting somewhere with Corinthians he'd just get injured again.

Not sure there will ever be a striker that complete again in my lifetime, skill, finishing, pace, power, free kick taking, long shots, heading, link up play there wasnt really anything he couldnt do.

Never saw him play live properly but he sounds a proper legend.

          If Torres is worth £50m...

I'd say this guy is £150m easy (at his prime). An amazing player.

Sad that his body can no longer do what his mind tells it to do, but it happens to everyone.

                    Ronaldo
no one else like it, that season at barca when he was really still a kid was sensational

george weah had a similar season when he was at milan but without as much skill

                    best ever modern number 9?

In terms of an all-round number 9, he's the best in the modern era. I didnt see people from the 70s and earlier, but Ronaldo's the best striker i've ever seen.

In terms of a pure goalscorer, Batistuta would be up there with him, but Ronaldo was so much more than just an out-and-out goalscorer.

The real ronaldo was awesome, the injuries took their toll on him but when he was fully fit before the knee injuries I can't think of a better striker I've seen play the game

Incredible player. The most gifted striker of his generation. I saw him playing for Barca at the Nou Camp. Can't remember who they were playing but he scored a hat trick that night and was on a different planet to all the other players on the pitch.

                          A true great.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

Ronaldo is a legend, as a young lad i used to try to play like him. So much so that i learnt how to do the "ronaldo dribble" the drag/step over.

Brilliant player, sad loss to the game.
