A 20-year-old footballer with a famous father has become the first high-profile Swedish footballer to announce that he is gay.
Anton Hysen, who plays for Utsiktens BK, made the announcement in a magazine interview.
The 20-year-old told Offside magazine that it was 'f***** up' that no other Swedish player had come out yet.

Famous father: Glenn Hysen in action for Liverpool back in 1990
He said: 'I am a footballer. And gay. If I perform as a footballer, then I do not think it matters if I like girls or boys.'
As yet, no top footballer in this country has come out, despite major stars in other sports doing so.
Welsh rugby favourite Gareth Thomas and England cricketer Steve Davies are among those to have declared that they are gay.
Hysen admitted that his announcement could affect his career, but added: 'People may call me anything they want, it will just make me even more psyched.'
Anton's father Glenn joined Liverpool in 1989, and helped the Reds to their 18th league title in his first season. He left the Merseyside giants in 1992.

MAYBE because Swedish women are hot, there's no need to be one of the gays.

Fair play, let's hope it opens the doors for more footballers...although I'm not holding my breath.

Aye fair play to the lad, he's bound to receive some stick too, which in this day and age is just terrible.

Chamakh for Arsanal is gay. It's well known within G.de Bordeaux. He has an agent that keeps it out of the English media along with 4 other premiership players. No bull****in...

I'm so excited. And I just cant hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it.

I'm surprised whether someone is gay or not even makes the news in this day and age.

England starlet Jack Wilshere can only get better, according to his Arsenal team-mate Marouane Chamakh.
The 18-year-old Gunners midfielder is set to feature for England Under-21s in Friday night's European Championship play-off first leg against Romania at Carrow Road.
Wilshere, who won his first full international cap at the start of the season, has also been included in the senior squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro at Wembley next Tuesday, although Under-21s coach Stuart Pearce could yet retain him for their trip to Botosani.
Chamakh, who arrived at Arsenal on a free transfer from Bordeaux during the summer, believes Wilshere - fresh from a productive loan at Bolton last season - is a real talent.
"I have been very impressed by Wilshere," Chamakh said to www.skysports.com. "Wilshere is a great player and I think he is only going to improve further. As well as being a great player he is adorable off the pitch.

Didn't realise Arsenal got him on a free though, good bit of business that.
