Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the point of Yaya Toure is?

Yaya Toure, Vieira and De Jong in the middle of the park...3 big bruisers but where's the creativity?

Silva and Wright-Phillips you would presume as well as support from the fullbacks.

Well obviously but even still it's not the most attacking team he could put out.

I don't see the point in having 3 similar type centre midfielders in the same side in any match tbh, nevermind at home to a Championship team.

I always quite liked Yaya Toure actually. Haven't seen him much for City but always thought at Barca, Monaco and even Olympiakos aside from being a 'bruiser' he had a decent touch, close control and passing. I get the impression he'd do better sat deeper and without De Jong around, that his current role expects too much creative impetus of him.

Every time I have seen him his touch, passing and decision making have been very poor.

I'd take Yaya Toure anyday, not only a good DM but very good going forward too.

I thought he was crap when watching him for Barca but I've been impressed with him this season. He's also the biggest footballer I've ever seen in the flesh. Built like a heavyweight boxer. Like a tank.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's rapid too. Didn't realise he was quite so fast.

If he calms down a bit he could be brilliant, he has it all in his locker IMO

Except ball control. He is fine at a slow tempo, otherwise the ball just bounces off him. Really average player.

His pass completion and assists rate are both pretty good, especially for a defensive midfielder.

Once he gets going yeah, no doubt about that but he's pretty slow and awkward on the turn. Can find it hard to get out of tight spaces.

I'm on the fence when it comes to his overall ability.

Surely City need to bring on Ballotelli or Dzeko for something else up front, or at least a more creative midfielder in the center of midfield, is Milner injured?

Really wish we signed Silva when we were linked with him, brilliant player.
