I think he would be near the top of my list of worst ever.

IIRC he was a current Italian international at the time Forest signed him, and those were the days that Italy had the strongest league in the world and a pretty decent national team.

I don't think Veron deserves to be on that list. He was a flop largely in comparison to what people knew he could do, he was a decent enough player for both Chelsea and United (particularly the in Europe IIRC).
