He's great value and is a brilliant addition to the league, but I'm still not convinced by his defending. Early days yet and he's obviously a talented footballer, defensively though he's rash and looks like he's got plenty of gaffes in him.

Agreed, he nearly cost his team v Fulham with that last minute penalty but Cech saved it, he should have been sent off against Man Utd and he was shakey v Blackpool.

Didnt think he was up to much at Anfield last season either though that was at left back, and I also saw him absolutely terrorised away to Porto earlier this season when Benfica lost 5-0.

He's really fun to watch but the hype all seems to be from scoring a few and bombing up field, which is a nice bonus but he is a centre back first and foremost.

Aye he's a bit rash to say the least but he's still only 23, i'm sure he'll learn to cut out the clumsy tackles etc.
Every other part of his game is spot on, very quick player too. He's exciting to watch.

He's very much Sergio Ramos crossed with Danny Agger. Although I do wonder if he would make a better DM

Good player - I've watched him play for Benfica & he was certainly the best CB in the Portuguese League. He's gonna be Brazil's 1st choice CB for years to come...

Agger, Luiz, Carra and Mertesacker would be what I'd have aimed for as the defensive options.
