but we should aim for the best out there and that means better players than Young.

If we sign Young for example and Scum Sanchez then we won't be any closer winning the league. We must improve more than our rivals, not only match them. We must close the gap.

FSG have a lot of selling and buying to do. Maybe even selling 10+ players and sign almost as many. Suarez and Carroll is a good start but we need to sign quality players like them every window. To sign players even if they cost £40m.

If we don't do that then our rivals will. The result. No closer to the top. You must also think about stopping your rivals signing the best players. To stop them improving to much.

They're finally going to overtake us, records are there to be broken i suppose. Hopefully we'll see the end of Fergie too as he's finally knocked us of our ****ing perch.
        We come not to play.

Merely wobbled the branch - we've got five.

Yet 75 points won the league in 97?

United have won 14 of 15 at home and scored far more than anyone else, they're a quality outfit and they will get a quality points total. Will have 4 players getting 10+ league goals.

We've done ****ing well to be near them with our squad.

"We"? Give up the pretence that you're an Arsenal supporter. That or bore off back to redcafe.

United aren't a quality outfit, not by any means.
Even the most ardent of Liverpool supporter couldn't argue when they had Scholes and Giggs in their prime, the Beckham's, the Ronaldo's...they were a classy side but not now.

Don't get me wrong, i'm jealous of United's ability to grind out results and that winning mentality they have - you can't dispute that they have that but to say they're a quality outfit isn't correct imo.

As for Arsenal, it's the same old story isn't it. Year and year Arsene comes out and says he has mega belief in his troops only to end up with egg on his face come March, April and indeed May.

How come they got 75 points and will get maybe 85 this year? We'll also beat that total.

Because the standard of the PL was better in 97 perhaps?!

These are the first responses on google. Far far more depth in their squad now. I can pull up Chelsea's, City's and Spur's squads from then if you like. They'll be worse than this tripe:

                        1. Peter Schmeichel
                        2. Gary Neville
                        3. Dennis Irwin
                        4. David May
                        5. Ronnie Johnsen
                        6. Gary Pallister
                        7. Eric Cantona
                        8. Nicky Butt
                        9. Brian McClair
                        10. David Beckham
                        11. Ryan Giggs
                        12. Phil Neville
                        13. Karel Poborsky
                        16. Roy Keane
                        17. Andy Cole
                        18. Paul Scholes
                        20. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

                        Looks rubbish

                        Vidic
                        Rafael
                        Evans
                        Scholes
                        Giggs
                        Hernandez
                        Rooney

                        Brown
                        Fletcher
                        Gibson
                        Nani

                        Rafael
                        Evra
                        Neville
                        O'Shea
                        Valencia
                        Van der Sar
                        Bebe
                        Carrick

                        Ferdinand
                        Hargreaves

Am I right in saying that back in 97 you could only have three or five subs? Now you can have seven.

The best 14 / 16 players from 97 are a lot better than the 18 that the Scum have now. Arsenal had a better squad 14 years ago, Leeds were a force, we were probably stronger, Newcastle were up there, Chelsea were decent.

Now we've got a league full of cloggers like Stoke, West Brom, Wolves, Wigan and similar ****. Arsenal are now bottlers, Chelsea are getting older, we've completely regressed. Get my point now?

You would most probably won the league if you had a manager that was prepared to sign the players he MUST sign. It is not good being to stubborn.

You play the best football in the league but could play even more and better attacking football if Wenger had signed a quality keeper.

It must be very bitter for you Arsenal fans knowing that it is that decision that again will cost the club titles. Not down to any tactics just a very stubborn decision not to sign a quality keeper. Total madness if you ask me and almost a decision worth sacking him for.

It is his responsibility to have a plan A and a plan B. Now he only have a plan A and that is to give young players a chance. Why not sign quality players and give youngsters a chance?

He also made a few big costly mistakes when it comes down to Fabregas and rushing him back. Mistakes that cost the club.

Wenger is an excellent manager but he also make big costly mistakes. The problem is that he makes them again and again and again.

We have had bad luck all year with injuries and what not. Chamakh is us leaning towards plan B, it's hardly Wenger's fault he suffered burn out mid season.

I also don't think a manager should be vilified for investing in youth and clearly wanting to play his part in a potential debt free club.

Is it frustrating that we haven't kicked on? Yes. Did Wenger do an infinitely better job than Benitez las year? Yes.

If we sell Fabregas and invest, which he would have to do, believe we'd challenge - Obviously buying a keeper.

Every team has it's share of injuries over a season. United have had, Chelsea too so that's no excuse.

Fact of the matter is, Wenger has bleated on for years that 'next year will be our year' only for it all to fall apart at the business end of the season.

He's had the funds to buy a top quality keeper and a centre half, yet time and time again he's failed to do so.

He's just far too stubborn and deluded for his own good and it's costing you once again.
