As Hansens said on MOTD2, when we won our last title it was 18-7. Now it will be 19-18. Shows just how far behind we've fallen, or at least never been able to mount consistant challenges.

Kenny is just the man to regenerate us to no 19 and beyond.

As much as we all hate Utd that is some achievement and Ferguson deserves some credit for bringing home that many titles.

We have been dross over that period and can only look at ourselves to blame. Hopefully one day we will be in a position to challenge for the title.

I personally am not confident of that happening for a while sadly. We need more competition, a togerthness and the desire and will to win every game.

Kenny has started instilling this in us but we need to improve lots otherwise Utd will keep racking up titles while we fade away.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

In fairness man, can you imagine a thread on redcafe 'congratulations to the scouse scum on winning the league' if we ever win it in the future? Hell no.

I'm not totally confident either, but at the same time the future does look bright for a number of different reasons.

Unfortunately i can't see the scum not winning another few league titles in the next few years. They're in the strongest position to win it again and again. The chasing pack all need major investment imo.
Well actually City don't need too many new players but knowing them, they'll go out and spend big again and you can't really blame them tbf.

            Embarrassing.

            http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...tle?CMP=twt_gu

Manchester United supporters have begun a campaign on fans' forums and on Twitter to get the Paul Hardcastle song '19' to No1 in the charts for this Sunday, when United may have already been crowned champions for the 19th time by beating Blackburn Rovers.

The song, first released in 1985 to highlight the average age of soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War, costs 79p to buy from iTunes and it is expected that 30,000 downloads would be enough to top the UK singles chart.

United's fierce rivalry with Liverpool is the chief motivation behind the move. The Merseyside club is currently level on 18 titles with United, whose fans need little encouragement to crow about their impending record 19th title win. Sir Alex Ferguson's statement in 1986 that he would like to knock "Liverpool right off their ****ing perch" is seen as another reason why United fans want to attract maximum publicity to the club's achievement.

Hardcastle, who wrote the song which topped the charts for five weeks in February and March 1985, is a Chelsea supporter, further motivation for United supporters to inflict a more pain on their closest rivals this season, whom they beat 2-1 on Sunday.

But while some supporters have encouraged others to buy 19 to 'make the Scousers cry' some believe downloading a song about the Vietnam War to celebrate winning the Premier League poses moral questions.

One poster by the name of Carlsberg King said on Manchester United's official website: "It's just a pity the song is about the poor soldiers who were basically kids fighting (and dying) in Vietnam. In which case I don't think it's particularly appropriate."

In response it was suggested that perhaps supporters could encourage EMI, who own the rights to the song, to give a percentage of the proceeds from sales to Vietnam veterans' associations.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the likes of Giggs and Scholes have gone, Giggs in particular has played a huge part for them this season particularly in the second half of the season, how many times has he come up with a goal or an assist that has won them the game. How would they cope with his loss, not just in terms of ability on the pitch but in terms of his experience and dressing room presence?

I think that the experience of going through a successful title challenge is very important and is something we lack in terms of experience, I think that the lack of it is partly responsible for Arsenal bottling the title this year (and last).

By the way, I saw some cunt here this morning (I'm a couple of miles from OT) wearing a home made t-shirt that said "Back on our ****ing perch, Scousers".

The slogan was written in marker pen.

Sad cunt. For a start it was never their perch, and **** me it's so right about them STILL being obsessed with us in their hour of glory. Says so much about the small time cunts. That chip on their shoulder will never go away.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Sad cunts the lot of them.

One particular Scum supporting mate of mine is the most fickle of *******s you'll ever meet. Any time United are beat, he calls for Fergie's head, in fact even if they're losing at half-time, he wants Fergie out "he's lost the plot", "time to get a younger Manager in"

When they won yesterday he text me saying "Fergie's the real King, not Dalglish"

Interesting to see what happens going forward, fergie built his united on the premise of overtaking Liverpool. They were obsessed with catching us and now they have it'll be interesting to see if it will change them. Now we hopefully do the chasing as i cant think of anybody who would take them getting to 19 harder then Kenny.
This is a critical few months for us, get the transfers right and i honestly believe we'll challenge them next year, get it wrong and we may never catch them.

the worst fans in the world? a song about kids dying in pointless wars to celebrate winning league!

anyone up for downloading you'll never walk alone?

This will give us a kick up the arse and we now have the RIGHT man at the helm who helped LFC become the best and will do what it takes to knock those ****ers off OUR perch.

The spirit of LFC and the BOOT ROOM has returned.

I suppose we have to try to be magnanimous, but congratulating the scum makes me feel a bit dirty. Like being nice to a bloke who is going out with an ex., who broke up with you!

Just remind any mancs who go on about reaching 19 first, and going ahead of us, that the self styled ‘biggest, richest, and bestest’ club in the universe, first formed in 1878, have finally become the most successful English club (domestically), and it’s only taken them 133 years. In all that time this is the first time that they have been ahead of us in title wins (we have been level a couple of times, but they have never been ahead until now).

With King Kenny back at the helm I feel very confident that it’s only a matter of time before we are back up there alongside them – how good will that feel!

Got sent this by a Manc mate, reminding me of the fact they're now on our perch - politely pointed out it was nice to see they realised it was still our perch!

No doubt the cunts at SSN will pick up on that banner at some point and point out it should actually read [JimWhite]"sat on THE perch. Which we understand now belongs to Unightted!!!"[JimWhite].
