Parcel bomb sent to Neil Lennon

I actually think Lennon is Catholic, so it's probably some Protestant scumbag. Was the parcel from Scotland or Northern Ireland?? Things like this is why Scottish football is ****I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that's basically the point I was trying to make

You're right. I thought he was a Protestant, remembered reading it somewhere, my mistake.Originally posted by El Diego View PostI actually think Lennon is Catholic, so it's probably some Protestant scumbag. Footballer sacked over Neil Lennon death wish comment on Twitter
A young Berwick Rangers footballer has been sacked for comments he made on a social networking site about the parcel bomb sent to Neil Lennon.
The Scottish Third Division side, in a statement on their website, said the player’s contract has been "terminated with immediate effect".
The club did not confirm who the footballer was in its statement, but a spokesman later confirmed the teenager in question is Kieran Bowell. The player was the U-17s captain of Berwick Rangers.
A posting on his Twitter site said: "Wish that parcel bomb f****** killed neil lennon, the little c***." The webpage has now been taken down.
In a statement, Berwick Rangers said: "It has been brought to the attention of Berwick Rangers that a young footballer on an amateur contract with the club has made a comment on a social networking site relating to the recent story concerning the posting of a parcel bomb to Neil Lennon.
"This comment was completely unacceptable and as a result the amateur contract of the player has been terminated with immediate effect.
"The player has offered an unreserved apology and accepts his conduct is outwith the attitudes and behaviour expected from any person associated with Berwick Rangers at any level. The club very much regret any offence caused by his actions."
A spokesman for the club said they had received around 85 complaints by Wednesday evening about the Twitter post.
The comment was "completely out of character" for the teenager, the spokesman added.
The 16-year-old admitted to club officials that he made the remark.

I jest.
He seems to have this air of self-importance, with the whole big-I-am attitude. His smug face, despite being an average footballer, is not warranted and now he's taken this from his playing career to his managerial career.
He was a thuggish player, he's a thuggish manager and he belittle's people and smaller clubs to give himself a congratulatory pat on his own back and make him feel bigger than he actually is.
He ticks all my boxes on my 'Damned List'.

doesnt that make it mostly protestant?Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostNorthern Ireland isn't mostly Protestant though, more than 40% is Catholic. I get your drift though, a Protestant shouldn't manage or play for a Catholic team in the eyes of the nutters. It begs the question whether it's a disgruntled Catholic or a disgruntled Protestant who has sent the device. My guess is that it's from his own side, ie Protestants, for daring to ask for a United Irish team.
Daft as **** the lot of them.

Btw, do you have any actual evidence which suggests Lennon belittle's people and smaller Clubs?
I don't particularly like Lennon myself, actually i don't know what to think of him, but what i do know is that he doesn't deserve all these threats to injure/kill him. No-one does.

Brian Reade in the Daily Mirror:
Have no doubt about the reason Neil Lennon had a bomb sent to him.
It is because he is a Catholic born in Northern Ireland who once said he would like to play for a team that represents the whole of Ireland.
It's a decision viewed by people with poisoned brains as a declaration of war, inflamed by his decision to play for and manage a club whose fans were baptised in a different church to them.
Blaming football for this act of evil is a cop-out.
In parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, football has merely become a vehicle for desperate bigots to hide behind.
But if Celtic and Rangers truly want to, they can go a long way to stamping it out.
Maybe they can start by putting up a huge banner across the entrances to their stadiums, reminding everyone how this banal hatred nearly killed a man whose only crime is picking 11 men to play football.
As another famous Lennon once said: “Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too.”
He's spot on.

Your saying, just because in your (non-referanced) opinion, that don't mind if someone blows Lennons arms and face off just for doing his job.
I'm disappointed a fellow Liverpool fan would have such views.

I'm so excited. And I just cant hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it.
"If I got a job to do, even if it was cleaning floors... I'd still want my floor cleaner than yours. If everyone was like that, football would be better. Bill Shankly
