if man city loose away to everton and spursOriginally posted by Rudo View PostUp to 5th yeah, but imo we would never in with a chance of finishing 4th with this squad, not ahead of Man City.
Btw Man City are 7 points clear of us, with a game in hand. It's not really that close, is it?
Everton V Man City
Man City V Tottenham
then were not that far behind now are we!

see i honestly felt we would have struggled for 4th this season and said so at the time (ie last summer, when benitez had gone and we hadn't appointed a manager)
I felt that we were the 6th best squad. And we had hicks and gillette here which meant we werent' going out and signing good players. - For me, the only way i saw us getting 4th was two things - one, we 'overperformed' and two, one of the 5 teams above us collapsed
Had Hodgson still been here, and for that matter hicks and gillette, then i think we'd have done well to scrap 8th when you consider how bad things were going.
The new owners and kenny in charge, along with two new exciting strikers, has given us a real feel good factor which has played a big part in pretty much securing 6th. Which i feel is a remarkble turn around and would mean for me, we've saved ourselves from a disastrious season.
But i'd still argue that....on paper, our squad still lacks the strength and some of the quality needed - ie we need a proper first choice left back, some quality at left mid, and arguably another centre back/centre/forward
But i'm just a keep it realist
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I don't know, that's impossible to call.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostHere's a question for you ~ How many points do you think we lost due to **** Bodge tactics, demoralised team members and crap signings?
Either way, i honestly don't think we'd have been able to get 4th.

****ing cop out. I'm asking for your opinion, something you're quite adept at dishing out here.Originally posted by Rudo View PostI don't know, that's impossible to call.

Personally I think it cost us at least 9 points. That would have us in contention for a CL place. Was muß, das muß.

maybe you have a better way of putting it
i remember at the start of the season saying if Rafa couldn't get us 4th with this squad, not to mention us being without Mascherano(key player), then how the heck would Roy pull it off.
At this moment our squad is the 6th best in the league, although i don't think Spurs is overly strong either - in saying that, the likes of Dawson, Bale, Modric and Lennon wouldn't half improve us.Last edited by Rudo; 26-04-11, 03:26 PM.
